UTEremote
UTE allows not only for tests on any computer UTErunner is installed on (can be an unlimited number of computers with a single UTEmanager license), but also facilitates remote testing. Utilizing UTEremote technology, tests can be taken by users scattered throughout the world. This capability increases the scope of the usability test and the validity of sample size without requiring each participant to install UTErunner or be present at one or more testing facilities to participate in the usability study.
UTEremote provides the same look and feel as UTErunner as well as identical data collection capabilities. With its step-by-step testing process, UTE is a perfect non-moderated testing platform providing an easy to follow test flow for all participants. Once the remote test is running, the work is done and data will be gathered by UTEremote whenever a participant connects. UTEremote also allows participants unable to complete the study in a single sitting to reconnect to the study and continue from where they last were.
Operating Limitations
Most mainstream operating systems can be used to connect to UTEremote including Windows (XP or newer), Apple OS X, and most versions of Linux. Participants could connect from anywhere in the world with a broadband connection and assist in the study. Invitations to participate can be emailed to select participants or invitations can be placed within a website allowing visitors to choose to be part of the study.
Occasionally organizations limit certain types of traffic within their networks resulting in some participants not being able to connect within certain controlled networks. This situation can usually be resolved by contact their network administrator or participating in the study connected to a less-restrictive network.

UTEremote test can only be requested by users with current UTE maintenance and support. Additionally, a setup fee and per-participant fees are also required.

UTEremote runs on servers hosted by Mind Design Systems. Setting up a remote test requires building a usability test and sending it to us to post on our servers. Any customized instructions you would like to show to participants as well as the look and feel of the web pages we host that help launch the usability test could also be included if the defaults provided will not work for you.
